Manage Digital Learning Resources with EQUELLA
Pearson has recently acquired
The Learning Edge International, parent company of the digital repository
EQUELLA. This intuitive digital repository provides solutions for educators to manage digital learning resources and integrates with existing learning management systems, as well as with other content systems such as CRM systems, library systems and ePortfolio systems. Pearson LearningStudio currently integrates with EQUELLA and enables effective use of digital content by students, educators and administrators. The Pearson LearningStudio and EQUELLA integration offers the following program capabilities to institutions like yours.
Users will benefit from a single sign-on integration between Pearson LearningStudio and EQUELLA. When this functionality is enabled for your institution, faculty and course authors will be able to access an EQUELLA button from within the Pearson LearningStudio Visual Editor, search for content that has been placed in the EQUELLA repository and make that content available to students. There is also an export tool available to move content from the Pearson LearningStudio Content Manager to the EQUELLA repository.
Benefits of EQUELLA include:
- Improved program management: The system includes a controlled workflow capability that manages the course/content creation process without introducing human error in the process.
- Increased operational efficiencies:
- Centralization of the entire course production process inside of EQUELLA versus the process of emailing files and folders back and forth between faculty and subject matter experts
- Capability to share content across an entire campus, district, system or even from one institution to another
- Management of copyrighted digital objects across courses and delivery platforms
- Reduction in bandwidth and storage needs across an organization
- Ability to embed images directly in a course
- Alignment of institutional outcomes:
- Reporting capabilities for faculty and administrators which include data on who is using which content and how often across courses.
- Search capability for all users that allows for search based on a standard to find content which will improve a course.
- Enhancement of accreditation reporting
- Centralization of all documentation with access rights for only those who need it
Many public and private institutions already have large collections of highly valuable digital content and research materials stored in multiple systems on and off campus that are not readily accessible, shareable or measurable. By centralizing these materials within EQUELLA, institutions can enhance their usage of this content and ultimately, Pearson LearningStudio.
