Pearson eCollege Releases Content Package Upload Tool

Students Offered Enhanced Learning Experiences with Online Class Resources

Pearson eCollege recently released the Content Package Upload Tool, the first step in the evolution of Pearson eCollege’s content interoperability strategy.

This release enables Pearson eCollege users to import an entire course into the Pearson eCollege system using the IMS 1.1.4 Content Packaging Standard. Eventually, the Content Package Upload Tool will allow Pearson eCollege Educational Partners to import and export Common Cartridge content.

This upload tool, located on the Program Administration tab, can be enabled for any Pearson eCollege campus. Users will enjoy the functionality of this initial release, as summarized below.

• Accepts two content types (Web Content Upload and Microsoft Office® Documents)
• Adds syllabi from Microsoft Word® document formats
• Allows the creation of Dropbox baskets
• Publishes content immediately or saves draft versions
• Enables content locking
• Enables changes in content owners
• Monitors the package upload progress
• Spots upload errors at the point of occurrence

Pearson eCollege’s Content Package Upload Tool is included in the Administration Page Help System. It also supported on CIU and AdanU for testing.
