Background

eCollege was founded in 1996 as Real Education, Inc. in Denver, Colorado. That year, Real Education launched its first online campus for the University of Colorado, who is still a client today. In 1999, Real Education changed its name to eCollege.com and became a publicly traded company, trading on the NASDAQ under the symbol ECLG.

Today, more than 650 online programs deliver their distance learning programs using the eCollege eLearning solution, and eCollege has integrated a feature-rich, intuitive teaching platform, designed and built to strict quality control standards.

In addition, eCollege integrates self-service administrative tools, such as sophisticated tracking and reporting tools for continuous operational improvement, with technical and academic consulting services to augment the existing online education staff’s skills.

With eCollege, institutions receive the support of systems engineers and IT specialists, product managers, trainers, course developers, instructional design and multimedia consultants, client services and help desk representatives. All of these services are provided from a single company, eCollege.
